Scope: family law; domestic-violence proceedings within family practice; unlawful detainer; decedent estates and trusts; guardianship; conservatorship; and the filing, service, calendaring, tentative-ruling, probate-examiner, remote-appearance, and local-form procedures that directly affect those matters.

This is an operational source-and-checklist manual. It deliberately excludes unrelated criminal, juvenile-delinquency, traffic, complex-commercial, and departmental information unless it affects an in-scope filing.

Family Law

Case initiation: verify venue, local case-assignment or cover form, branch, summons/petition packet, confidential forms, filing fee or fee waiver, and e-filing document names.
Request for Order: determine whether a hearing reservation is required; verify local attachments, page limits, proposed order, notice language, service deadline, and any CCRC/mediation appointment or orientation.
Emergency / ex parte: confirm notice deadline, filing cutoff, assigned department, local ex parte application or declaration, opposition cutoff, pickup/download procedure, and follow-up service.

Unlawful Detainer

Venue and branch: confirm the property address maps to the correct courthouse; some counties centralize all UD filings regardless of property location.
Case opening: verify local civil cover-sheet addendum, complaint supplements, summons, confidential case-opening data, prejudgment claim forms, fee, and document naming.
Service: calendar the statutory service and response periods; verify substituted/posting requirements, proof-of-service form, and any local filing treatment.
Default: use current local default checklist/declaration, rent ledger or damages support, military declaration, judgment form, writ paperwork, and required copies.
Trial setting: verify UD-150 plus any local trial-setting form, mandatory settlement conference, department, exhibit procedure, remote appearance status, and interpreter request.
Motion / ex parte: confirm whether a reservation is required, shortened-time or stay procedures, filing cutoff, courtesy copies, tentative ruling, and local notice requirements.

Probate, Guardianship & Conservatorship

Maintenance protocol

Before every filing: repeat the county quality-control gate and record the rule edition, form revisions, filing cutoff, and reviewer.
January 1 and July 1: recheck all 58 local-rules pages and replace superseded rule links or summaries.
Monthly: review county news/notices, standing orders, e-filing pages, local forms, judicial assignments, court closures, and fee schedules.
After every rejection or clerk instruction: verify the source; add a dated internal note only when supported by an official page, written clerk notice, or controlling order.
